"To see in colour is a delight for the eye, but to see in Black and White is a delight for the soul" Andri Cauldwell
Take a moment and search the work of Andri Cauldwell, Diane Arbus, Cartier-Bresson, Eugene Smith, Vivian Maier, the absolute sublime work of Robert Frank... What is it about the Black and White Portrait that is so alluring -so beguiling? I love how the light reacts off Black Dogs' rich coat and the reflective sheen off her nose. I love how the textures 'POP'! Some suggest Black and White photography accesses our emotional centres more directly than colour. Often times these words fail to describe what we feel. In the end, I love how Black and White pet photography works -especially in print! Maybe its best not to over-analyze and, rather, just to sit back and take it in.
